elWoo Studio is committed to handling users’ personal information and voice data safely while providing the elWoo Wave service. This Privacy Policy explains what information the elWoo Wave app may collect or process, how such information is used, and how it is protected.

1. Information We Collect

elWoo Wave may collect or process the following information in order to provide its services:

  • Account Information: Email address, display name, and Firebase User ID
  • App Usage Information: Callsign, language settings, subscription plan status, usage data, and operational information related to blocking or reporting
  • Voice and Caption Information: Voice data transmitted while using PTT, speech recognition results, translation results, and safety filtering results
  • Device and Technical Information: App version, device information, connection status, server connection logs, and error logs
  • Advertising Information: Advertising identifiers and information related to ad display and reward processing through Google AdMob

2. How We Use Information

The information collected or processed may be used for the following purposes:

  • Creating, signing in to, and deleting user accounts
  • Issuing callsigns, preventing duplicate callsigns, and managing scheduled callsign release dates
  • Transmitting and receiving voice communications
  • Speech recognition, translation, and caption display
  • Filtering profanity and inappropriate speech
  • Managing free usage limits, rewarded advertisements, and subscription features
  • Maintaining service stability, analyzing errors, and preventing abuse
  • Complying with applicable legal obligations and Google Play policies

3. Voice Data Processing

elWoo Wave processes voice data while users are speaking in order to provide its Push-to-Talk (PTT) communication features.

Voice data may be transmitted to other users connected to the same frequency and may also be processed by servers and AI services for speech recognition, translation, and safety filtering.

Voice data is used only for providing the service and performing safety filtering.

Because elWoo Wave is designed as a public frequency-based communication service, anything a user says through PTT may be transmitted to other users connected to the same frequency.

4. Speech Recognition and Translation

elWoo Wave may use speech recognition and translation technologies to provide its features, including:

  • On-device speech recognition, such as Android SpeechRecognizer
  • Server-based speech recognition and AI processing
  • AI-based correction, moderation, and translation using services such as Google Gemini
  • On-device translation using technologies such as ML Kit

The technologies and processing methods used may vary depending on the user’s device, language, subscription plan, and network conditions.

5. Advertising

elWoo Wave may display advertisements through Google AdMob.

Free users may see advertisements, and users may receive additional free translation usage by watching rewarded advertisements.

Google AdMob may process advertising identifiers, device information, app usage information, and other related information for purposes such as providing advertisements, measuring advertising performance, and preventing fraudulent or abusive activity.

6. Third-Party Services

elWoo Wave may use the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication: User authentication and account management
  • Cloud Firestore: Storage of user information, callsigns, and settings
  • Firebase Realtime Database: Management of connection status and frequency status
  • Firebase Storage or Google Cloud: Storage of data required for service operation
  • Google AdMob: Advertising and rewarded advertisements
  • Google Gemini or Google AI Services: Assistance with speech recognition, moderation, correction, and translation
  • ML Kit: On-device translation features

Firebase and Google Cloud provide security features designed to help protect data both in transit and at rest.

7. Data Retention

User account information is retained while the user continues to use the service.

For free users, callsigns may be released after a certain period of inactivity based on the user’s last login date. The current inactivity period is 180 days from the last login date.

When a user deletes their account, account information and related data will be deleted. However, certain information may be retained for the period required by applicable laws or as reasonably necessary for legal obligations, security, fraud and abuse prevention, payment verification, or other legitimate operational purposes.

8. Account Deletion and Data Deletion

Users may delete their accounts through the account deletion feature available within the app.

When an account is deleted, the following information may be deleted:

  • User account records
  • Callsign registration information
  • User settings
  • Personal data related to app usage

9. Children’s Privacy

elWoo Wave is not intended for children under the age of 13.

If a parent or legal guardian believes that a child under the age of 13 is using the service or has provided personal information through the service, they may contact us to request deletion of the relevant information.

10. Data Security

elWoo Studio applies reasonable technical and administrative safeguards designed to protect users’ personal information.

These measures may include:

  • Use of Firebase and Google Cloud security features
  • Encryption of data during transmission
  • Restricted access to servers
  • Minimization of unnecessary personal data collection
  • Management and monitoring of app and server logs

However, due to the nature of Internet-based services, no method of electronic transmission or storage can guarantee complete security.

11. International Data Processing

elWoo Wave is designed for users worldwide.

Users’ information may be processed outside their country of residence through the infrastructure of third-party service providers such as Firebase, Google Cloud, and Google AI services.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time due to changes in the service, applicable laws, regulations, or platform policies.

If material changes are made, we may notify users through the app or an associated webpage.
